The number of COVID-19 cases in Islamabad is increasing. The positivity ratio in Pakistan stays above 1% for the second consecutive day.

ISLAMABAD: The COVID-19 positive rate in Islamabad has surpassed 4%, with the city experiencing a "constant surge" in coronavirus infections, according to district health authorities on Sunday.

According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), 45 persons were infected with the virus after diagnostic testing on 1,098 samples.

Meanwhile, according to NIH statistics, COVID-19 positive in Pakistan remained over 1% for the second consecutive day, despite a minor increase in new cases.

In the previous 24 hours, 152 diagnostic tests came back positive after testing of 11,663 samples across the country, bringing the COVID-19 positivity ratio to 1.3 percent.

Furthermore, 55 people afflicted with the virus are in severe condition.
