ISLAMABAD: An Islamabad district and sessions court granted interim pre-arrest bail to senior PTI leaders on Monday in a case involving vandalism during the party's recent long march toward Islamabad.
The police had arrested 11 PTI leaders in a case involving violence at the Kohsar police station, and the court had reserved its decision. A decision on the same station's case no. 425 has been postponed.
Former planning minister Asad Umar, ex-National Assembly deputy speaker Qasim Khan Suri, Senator Faisal Javed, former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed, ex-defense minister Pervez Khatak, PTI Vice-President Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Shehryar Afridi, Ali Mohammad Khan, Sheraz Basharat, Raja Khurram Nawaz, and Murad Saeed are among those granted bail.
The judge asked about the investigation into the cases registered at Tarnol, Golra, and I-9 police stations during the hearing. The judge ordered that all suspects cooperate with the investigation.
Today's court appearances included Qasim Khan Suri, Shehryar Afridi, Ali Muhammad Khan, Asad Umar, and Faisal Javed.
